A Campaign to Connect: Introducing Period Care Kits

Quincy, a Stanton Youth Ambassador, at the Apple Valley Unified School District Health Fair.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”  - John 10:10

Jesus’s words in this verse are crystal clear – He is our good shepherd, and He alone brings hope and life to the lost and dying! At Stanton Healthcare, we minister every day to women who are lost, and it is our privilege to share Christ’s love with them.

Almost every woman who comes to Stanton has a story of despair and destruction. She may have been lied to, stolen from, or otherwise deceived. She believes the whispers: “You are not worthy. No one loves you. You can’t be a mother – you can’t even take care of yourself!”

But when this broken, doubt-filled woman enters the Stanton Mobile, she is greeted by words of encouragement, affirmation, and love. She is shown by every action of our clinic team that her life is a gift, her baby’s life is a gift, and that she is worthy of our best care. This woman has entered a life-giving space where she can Find Hope and Be Well, by the grace of Jesus Christ.

In recent months, our team has been praying for open doors to reach more women in the High Desert through the life-saving ministry of Stanton Healthcare. We have a licensed mobile clinic and professional, expertly trained clinic staff ready to serve, but so many women in the community are not aware Stanton exists. It has been clear for some time that creative outreach is needed to boost our profile in the community.

Introducing... Period Care Kits!

“Wait,” you might be thinking, “Why would pregnant women need period care kits? And what IS a period care kit, anyways?”

What: The Stanton Period Care Kit is a zippered canvas bag emblazoned with our beautiful slogan of “Find Hope Be Well” and filled with a variety of key items to support a woman during her menstrual cycle. Maxi pads, tampons, heat patches, wipes, herbal tea, and lip balm – all high-quality, organic, and carefully curated for a woman’s hygiene and comfort.

Also included is a tampon safety card, a Stanton business card, stickers, and a specially designed postcard that introduces the recipient to the life-affirming, hope-filled ministry of Stanton. My favorite part of the postcard is the photo of Paige, our volunteer Registered Nurse, because her smile perfectly represents the hope and joy clients will find at Stanton.

Why: The Stanton Period Care Kit program exists to meet an immediate, practical need for women and girls while also introducing them to Stanton’s compassionate, whole-woman care. These kits are designed to communicate dignity, care and respect while creating a first point of connection with Stanton Healthcare. By building trust with women before then need our pregnancy services, we are ensuring their first call in crisis is to Stanton, not Planned Parenthood!

This program is not only about period products. It is about presence, accessibility, and early relationship building with women who may later need Stanton’s services and support. The period care kit tells women that we care, and that they matter.

How: A faithful Stanton donor placed an order for materials for the first 50 kits, volunteers assembled them, and we launched the Period Care Kits at the Apple Valley Health Fair a few weeks ago. The kits were a success! Women beelined for the Stanton table to interact with our volunteers – young adult women who radiated joy and spoke confidently about the mission of Stanton and the services we offer. The Period Care Kits were the perfect conversation starter, and we saw woman after woman place a kit in her purse where Stanton’s contact information is now within easy reach.

Our goal is to reach hundreds, if not thousands, of women across the High Desert with this creative outreach. Our team of volunteers is ready to assemble the next batch of kits and we are already planning to distribute the kits at our local colleges, health fairs, and other community events.

Can you see the opportunity in this Period Care Kit project? I truly believe God has provided us with a unique, valuable tool in the battle for life. Our new Period Care Kits are direct counterattacks to the lies young women are told about their bodies, about their value, and about the options open to them in times of crisis. The thief comes to destroy, but we are fighting back with the truth that Jesus brings abundance!

If you would like to support the Period Care Kit project and help us reach more women in our community, you can contribute in several meaningful ways:

Pray: For provision of the supplies for the kits, for open doors to community events, for our event volunteers, and for the women who receive the kits.

Give: You can make a tax-deductible, secure donation toward the Period Care Kits through our online donation system, send a check to P.O. Box 189, Wrightwood, CA 92397, or you can order kit supplies directly from Amazon through our wish list and they will be delivered to our office.

Serve: Join our volunteer team to assemble the kits, serve at events, and share about Stanton’s ministry. No previous experience required, just willing hands and a Spirit-filled heart.  Follow this link to the online application, or call/text us at 760-684-8860 to request a printed copy.

Thank you for standing with Stanton through your prayers and generous gifts! The Period Care Kit project has the potential to bring more clients than ever to Stanton Healthcare, and we had the confidence to launch the project because we knew we could count on your support. The clinic doors stay open because you believe in this ministry, and lives are saved because you are faithful. May God bless you!

With Hope,
