Stories from the Mobile!

Hello, Stanton Family!

As the Stanton Mobile continues to be out serving women even with a limited capacity this summer due to staffing changes, I wanted to share a few client experiences from the last two weeks to highlight the fact that hope is still the mission and service of all of us here at Stanton SoCal. We have counselled, talked with, given pregnancy tests and ultrasounds to, and seen multiple women walk out of the Mobile carrying personalized referrals, gift bags made by our supporters (you!), and hope for the future, per usual.

One of the moms who came into the Mobile last week walked in bright and early at 8 AM to receive her first ultrasound for her baby... just a month from her due date. She was able to find out her baby’s gender (it was a girl!), share her story with her hopes and concerns about this being her third pregnancy and not having medical care, see her child’s face and hear her heartbeat to ease her mind before delivering, and walk out smiling with a gift bag filled with diapers, clothes, and other newborn supplies, ready to welcome her daughter. “Thank you for this blessing,” she told us, and I’m happy to share that you were part of blessing her, too.

Another recent client came in as a senior in high school with a very early pregnancy, having suffered a miscarriage previously and undecided about her decision to parent. She “felt supported by [her] family but had thought about abortion and wanted to make sure [she] was really pregnant before making a decision.” We sat with her, talked over her situation and her feelings, and gave her an ultrasound, after which she was more confident to say she wanted to parent. It was a joy to give her resources to help her in that decision and to encourage her to reach out for any other help during her pregnancy.

For both women and many more, Stanton stood in the space where there should have been accessible medical care and a better support system. We were able to give them hope above all else. Please pray for these two clients and all the other women who come to us, that they would continue to walk in hope!

The Mobile is such an amazing place because stories like these are routine. We wanted to share them so you can pray, but also to share the opportunity we have for you and your church: host the Mobile and do a Stanton Sunday, where people can tour the clinic and see where the Lord works so wonderfully in our community. It is one of the best ways to really bring people into the ministry, and as our faithful church supporters, we want you to be involved in more than just prayer and donations: we want you to step into the Mobile and know how your support is changing lives.

If you think your church would benefit from a Stanton Sunday, please reach out to me to schedule one for the fall or winter. We can bring out the Mobile for tours, set up a table, add a slide to your weekly slideshow, or even give a short talk as an update and volunteer request- it's up to your church to see what would benefit the sisters and brothers among you. Call us at (760)-684-8860 or use our contact form here to discuss it further!

In Christ and with hope,
