Abortion Businesses Can't Compete

What happens when a business is challenged by another company that dispenses a competing product to the same demographic - for free?

If that business is the abortion industry, you take it to the legislature and attempt to subdue your competition through suppression of free speech.

Thanks to the abortion lobby in Sacramento, Gov. Jerry Brown signed AB 775 into law last week.  This law requires both medical and non-medical pregnancy resource centers to intentionally inform potential clients of state-funded abortion and birth control services by posting notices such as the following:

"California has public programs that provide immediate free or low-cost access to comprehensive family planning services (including all FDA-approved methods of contraception), prenatal care, and abortion for eligible women. To determine whether you qualify, contact the county social services office at [insert the telephone number]."

As noted in this article, pregnancy resource centers and clinics will not simply roll over and conform to this new outrageous law. It is clear the abortion industry is scared, and now is not the time to back down from our stand for life-affirming women's healthcare.

While abortion businesses offer death at a price, life-affirming resource centers promote life at no charge. Attempting to direct our resources to promoting state-sponsored abortion will not change the facts: we share the truth and provide hope. No amount of coercive legislation can silence us!
